Our Three Stars Veronelli 2016 awarded wines

Like every year, the publication of The Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli edited by the Permanent Seminar of Luigi Veronelli, Association for the Culture of Wine and Food , is an expected event in the Italian wine world. With more than 2,000 companies and 15,000 censused labels, Veronelli is the guide with the highest number of technical information about wines and Italian producers. The wineries are ordered by region, from north to south, and by common: for each of them are listed the contact details, the names of the owners and technical managers, the number of hectares planted with vines and the agricultural management system, plus any other farm products and services such as catering and accommodation facilities. The wines are described with the reporting of cru, elevation, recommended vintages, number of bottles produced and indication of the price. Heir of the catalogs published since 1961 by Luigi Veronelli, the Guida Oro is the first guide to the Italian wines. This is therefore the most detailed compendium of Italian wine: in addition to this enormous mass of information, it gives a score for each label from one to three stars and other awards and nominations. For this reason its publication is ardently awaited by the Italian producers, we are all curious and a bit ‘impatient’ to know the score, in cents, of our labels. Torre a Cenaia conquers this year the Three Stars thanks to the dessert wine Dolce Peccato Late Harvest Tuscany, made of Trebbiano and Sauvignon grapes, which gains the 91/100 score.
Cenaja Dolce Peccato - INGL
The three stars also go to the Torre del Vajo Toscana Rosso 2012, made up of a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Syrah, for a score of 90/100.
Cenaja Torre del Vajo - INGL
Followed by the award-winning Cenaja Vermentino Toscana Late Harvest 2013, 89/100, that for only one point remains in the two stars. Also our Pitti wines win the three stars: Pitti Chardonnay Toscana 2014 gets a score of 88/100, and surpasses, although by only one point, the other three Pitti wines in joint place with 87/100, the Pitti Rosato Toscana 2014 the Pitti Sangiovese Toscana 2013 and Pitti Vermentino Toscana 2014. The result comes to us while the winemaker Graziana Grassini, nicknamed Lady Sassicaia for the famous label that care along with many other stars of the Italian wine firmament, is tasting together with our staff the previews of the next vintage, which promises to be nothing short of memorable.
The appointment is for the next edition, ready to the new challenge of the Three Stars Veronelli!!
